My Kind of Gal Pal
Alice, doing what she loves best.
She may as well be a Prepian. Alice is a Prepian spouse who is embraced and warmly welcomed by all of us. Undeterred even by a cancer diagnosis and treatment, she is always present at our gatherings. It doesn't matter to her how near or far the event is—you can always count on her presence. We consider her an honorary Prepian.
A no-nonsense kind of woman, she is a consummate hostess. Visit her house and you are showered with love, not to mention treated to her delicious cooking, warm, comfortable accommodations, and fun excursions—it doesn't matter where, she will take you there.
I'm not saying she is a perfect human being. She has her "flaws," adorable ones, and we all indulge her in them. She loves casino gambling, for one, but don't get me wrong. She is not a high roller, but take her to a casino and she will find a seat to place her bet, press a button, or roll the dice. She loves mahjong and will stay rooted to her seat for as long as her eyelids can stay open. How I love to look at her bejeweled hands and well-manicured fingers shuffling the clacking ivory tiles!
And oh, how she loves to shop! Like going to a casino, she will find an excuse to pass by a mall, a souvenir shop, or a street market. I often wonder what her closet looks like with all those purchases! But one doesn't have to wonder for long, because it shows in how she puts herself together—matching ensembles, hats and accessories that give her a certain flair, and shoes and sandals of all shapes and elevations. Seldom do I catch her without makeup.
Most of all, she loves to travel. Her annual calendar is filled with tours, cruises, pilgrimages, reunions, or just hosting visiting family and friends. She takes oodles of pictures, which she promptly shares in her FB posts. I do not know of anybody else who loves life and living as much as our Alice!
Kind-hearted, authentic, and generous, Alice's beauty as a person is not only on the outside, but on the inside, too. That is why she is my kind of gal pal.
